Pretty good tournament at Green Valley Ranch as the kid went 83-79 in pretty high wind to capture his first top ten on a major junior event. When I registered him for the event he had an 8.6 handicap but right before the tournament started he got down to 7.8 so they pulled him into the Elite Junior division (handicaps under 8.1).
The boy and I had an absolute blast with Cliff and his buddy Normy. Normy looks very much like Jim Furyk. I LOVED this course - lots of elevation changes in a gorgeous setting. The kid shot an 81 and notched his 10th birdie of the year when he drove the green on the short par four 9th hole and two putted from the first cut. His reward was a ride in Uncle Cliff's Ferrari back to his place where we hung out for a couple of hours before our flight home.
