Well all of the extra work has been paying off. Despite a few doubles, the fired back to back 83's and hit an amazing 21/28 fairways in regulation - a MASSIVE improvement from prior tournaments.
Well, practicing for just 45 minutes each morning just wasn't cutting it as the boy has struggled mightily with his game, firing in the high 80's his last few tournaments. We did some schedule rearranging and asked the GM at Raven if there was anything Trevor could do in exchange for playing a few holes in the afternoon. We met with Kevin Weber and the head golf instructor, Barry Hand and Trevor's new responsibilities are: Calibrating the yardage board each morning on the range to the correct distances to each hole Clearing off all of the range balls on the first hole Fixing as many ball marks on every green he plays What an amazing setup we have here. Here he is hitting errant range balls from the #1 fairway back onto the range
Palo Verde Golf Course Playing in just his second ever Firebirds tournament, Trevor a great four hole stretch with three birdies, but finished double bogey/bogey to wind up +2. Cat Dann won it all with a -1. Cat's father and I talked for quite awhile after the tournament while the boys practiced. He's quite a character. I have a feeling that the boys will become fast friends...
