Wednesday July 26, 2023 - The Bridges

Montrose, CO Beautiful, Nicklaus-designed course.   We both had solid birdies on #9, a long par five and we both shot 84.   Trevor came up a wee bit short on a water hole and had to shed some clothes to make his next shot in order not to get soaked:    Montrose Mayhem

Tuesday July 25, 2023 - Lakota Links

New Castle, CO Excellent track with an absolutely amazing view from the clubhouse.    I shot an 85 and Trevor shot an 82.   Check out the amazing lob wedge on 18:    Amazing Shot

Monday July 24, 2023 - Ironbridge

Glenwood Springs, CO Very nice track but wasn't worth the regular rate of $159 so I just let Trevor play for $79 instead.   Mixed results with some great shots and some crappy shots as well for an 88.

Sunday July 23, 2023 - Mount Massive

Leadville, CO Quite a bunch of characters that live in Leadville, CO.   I think I was the only one up here that didn't have a beard and a ponytail.

Friday July 21, 2023 - Colorado Open

J ust when you thought things couldn't get much better on this trip, we went to the restaurant at the golf course on Wednesday afternoon and our new friend Barry was there as usual.   He was chatting with one of the pro golfers (named Jackson Foth) who's in the tournament and he introduced us.   Jackson is from Kansas and is super nice, but he was a little bummed that he just got into town and didn't have enough time to play a practice round. Barry asked him, "What about your caddie, is he at least familiar with the course?" Jackson replied, "Unfortunately, I don't have a caddie." Barry then said, "You should get Trevor here to be your caddie - he's played the course every day for the last six weeks - he knows it inside and out..." Jackson asked, "Trevor, what do you shoot when you play this course?" Trevor replied, "I shot a 79, then an 80 on Tuesday." Jackson said, "Well let's do this!"

Thursday July 13, 2023 - Fossil Trace Golf Club

Birthday Boy and I got out to Golden, CO early and had a fantastic day.   Tricky track as it's very much target golf.   We both blew a few through the fairway and would have played several holes differently if given a second chance.   Trevor shot an 88 and I shot a 93.   We got paired up with Scott and John, who are commercial real estate brokers from Toronto.   Scott grew up about a mile from me.   Great folks.

Tuesday July 4 - Broken Tee Golf Club

Broken Tee is a fairly shitty track but not much worse than an average course in Arizona in the summer.   The good news is the boy had his first ever turkey.   The par 3 4th hole was from 170 yards out in a solid breeze over water and he put it to four feet.   Went to Cliff's afterwards and had a good time.

Monday July 3 - Green Valley Ranch

Green Valley Ranch - played 18 today.

Saturday July 1, 2023 - MAXD Tournament

Sky Ranch Golf Club.    Sterling, CO Well the boy got off to a bit of a rocky start with bogey/double on the first two holes but then ran off 7 pars in a row to finish the front nine +3.   7 GIRs on those 7 pars.   Unfortunately he went triple/double on holes 13 and 14, and didn't even make a horrible shot - just a lack of course knowledge and some straight up bad luck.   Finished +10 on the back for an 85 but struck the ball much better than the first two tournaments. This was definitely the best course of the three tournament venues as well.   The two other kids were great - Will and Drake, as were their parents.   Very nice people.
