Friday May 26, 2023 - NCAA Men's Golf Championships

 This was such a great day.

We went to Grayhawk and within 30 minutes we got to meet Alabama's coach, Jay Seawell, their assistant coach, Hunter Hamrlick, a bunch of the players' parents, and walked the front nine with Nick Dunlap's father.   Nick, a freshman, was the #1 high school recruit in the country last year and won the US Junior Amateur.   His dad gave Trevor lots of advice and lots of encouraging words.   He's awesome - great guy.

 Played a practice round on Friday and the boy did much better than the last couple of weeks.   No question he plays much better on good courses.   Today he had three shit holes that did him in (+10 on those holes) but went +4 on the other 15.   Crazy.   Finished with an 86.   So much better than the last couple of weeks on those shitty courses. Lauren and Doug came out to watch the front nine.

Monday July 26, 2021: Castle Rock, CO

 The boy and I had an absolute blast with Cliff and his buddy Normy.   Normy looks very much like Jim Furyk.   I LOVED this course - lots of elevation changes in a gorgeous setting.   The kid shot an 81 and notched his 10th birdie of the year when he drove the green on the short par four 9th hole and two putted from the first cut.   His reward was a ride in Uncle Cliff's Ferrari back to his place where we hung out for a couple of hours before our flight home.

 The kid won his 3rd school tournament at Shalimar by 6 strokes.   He was +5 on nine holes and was pretty consistent.
