Monday May 29, 2023 - NCAA Men's Golf Chamionships

We were on the way to Munds Park and stopped at Grayhawk for the 2023 NCAA Men's Golf Championships.   We met Coach Jay Seawell, Assistant Coach, Hunter Hamrlick, and many of the players' parents.   We played Elephant Rocks (I beat Trevor 85/88) and then got back down to Grayhawk again on Monday to watch the fourth round of stroke play.

Friday May 26, 2023 - NCAA Men's Golf Championships

This was such a great day. We went to Grayhawk and within 30 minutes we got to meet Alabama's coach, Jay Seawell, their assistant coach, Hunter Hamrlick, a bunch of the players' parents, and walked the front nine with Nick Dunlap's father.   Nick, a freshman, was the #1 high school recruit in the country last year and won the US Junior Amateur.   His dad gave Trevor lots of advice and lots of encouraging words.   He's awesome - great guy.

Sunday May 21, 2023 - US Kids

Another inconsistent tournament with 8 pars, 6 bogeys, two double bogeys, and two quads.   Both quads were a result of tee shots going OB.   The course was in excellent condition and despite a very encouraging practice round on Friday with Hudson, he had to settle for a 90.   The good news is that there were a couple of phenomenal drives, some great approach shots, and two perfect 3 woods on the par 5's.

Saturday May 12, 2023 - Firebirds

This was a tough one.   Trevor struck the ball better than I've ever seen, to a point where he was constantly going long on par 3 tee shots, and his approach shots on the par 4's.   Had a spectacular drive and approach on the 478 yard par 5, leaving himself with a 18 foot eagle putt.   Birdied that one and birdied #9 but he lost it on #8.   The tee shot was long and right and wound up being OB beacuse the white stakes didn't follow the property lines like every other hole.   Had to settle for a triple bogey.

Sunday May 7, 2023 - PING Junior Interclub
