Friday July 15, 2022 - The Open Championship Trip

 Day Eight.

Friday was travel day.   We left St. Andrews and drove for 6 1/2 hours (315 miles) to the Courtyard by Marriott just outside Stoke-on-Trent, England.   Much to our delight, we had a relatively large hotel room compared to the tiny ones on the way up.

Trevor played The Shoals - Fighting Joe course with Bill Beumer, the head golf coach at Grissom High School in Huntsville.   The state championship is being played at this course so he wanted to get familiar with it.   Trevor got off to a rocky start but birdied back to back holes to finish the front nine and cruised to an 82 on yet another great course.

 Met Jim Furyk at the Pro Am during the Candian Open.   We wore our Wildcats shirts and he came over to talk to us.   Very exciting for both of us.
