 X3 Tournament Championship - final tour stop.   The boy was in 3rd place overall and the only chance he had to win it all was to win the tournament and have both Conner (2nd overall) and Chase (leader) place 7th or lower.   That wasn't going to happen.   He just had to beat Cruz Cooper (4th overall) outright to maintain his position at 3rd overall - and he did.

He birdied holes 3 and 5 and went into the 6th hole at even par.   Doubles on 6 and 8 cost him but he finished strong with a par on 9 to end up +5, good enough for 2nd place behind Chase, who finished +3.

 The boy and I had an absolute blast with Cliff and his buddy Normy.   Normy looks very much like Jim Furyk.   I LOVED this course - lots of elevation changes in a gorgeous setting.   The kid shot an 81 and notched his 10th birdie of the year when he drove the green on the short par four 9th hole and two putted from the first cut.   His reward was a ride in Uncle Cliff's Ferrari back to his place where we hung out for a couple of hours before our flight home.

 The kid won his 3rd school tournament at Shalimar by 6 strokes.   He was +5 on nine holes and was pretty consistent.

Sunday March 19, 2023 - X3 Tournament

 Well the boy played a decent round but had one big miss - the fifth hole.   It made no sense.   Total duff on the 130 yard par 3.   Hozel shot that went 80 yards left.   He hasn't done that in a long time.   Second shot went of the back of the green.   Third shot was a lob wedge that he chunked.   Two putts from there for a nast double.   He was +1 on the other eight holes though, good enough for second place.
